Editorial Policy

Effective Date: February 15, 2026 · Last Updated: February 15, 2026

ZUG Web3 is committed to producing independent, rigorous, and trustworthy intelligence on Switzerland's Crypto Valley ecosystem, Web3 technology, decentralized finance, and blockchain regulation. This Editorial Policy outlines the principles, processes, and standards that govern all content published on our platform. We believe that transparency about our editorial methods strengthens the credibility of our work and empowers readers to evaluate our content with full knowledge of how it was produced.

Sources and Research Methodology

All content published on ZUG Web3 is grounded in verifiable data and authoritative sources. Our primary source categories include official government publications from Swiss federal and cantonal authorities, including FINMA regulatory guidance, Federal Council communications, and cantonal economic data; central bank reports and working papers from the Swiss National Bank, the Bank for International Settlements, the European Central Bank, and other monetary authorities; peer-reviewed academic research from institutions including ETH Zurich, the University of Zurich, and leading international research universities with blockchain and fintech programs; institutional reports from organizations such as the World Economic Forum, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the OECD, and the Financial Action Task Force; industry data from the Crypto Valley Association, the Swiss Blockchain Federation, and recognized blockchain analytics providers such as Chainalysis and Dune Analytics; regulatory filings and public disclosures from companies and foundations operating in the Crypto Valley ecosystem; and reputable financial media including Bloomberg, Reuters, the Financial Times, and CoinDesk for current event context.

When citing data or statistics, we prioritize primary sources over secondary reporting. Where multiple sources provide conflicting data, we present the discrepancy transparently and explain our rationale for the figures we choose to use in our analysis. We do not present unverified claims, rumors, or anonymous tips as established facts. Information obtained from anonymous sources, when used at all, is clearly identified as such and corroborated by at least one additional independent source before publication.

Fact-Checking Process

Every article published on ZUG Web3 undergoes a multi-stage fact-checking process before publication. All factual claims, statistics, and data points are verified against primary sources. Regulatory information is cross-referenced with official FINMA publications and Swiss federal legislation databases. Financial data, including funding rounds, valuations, and market metrics, is verified against multiple independent sources. Technical claims about blockchain protocols, smart contracts, and DeFi mechanisms are reviewed by team members with direct engineering experience in the relevant technology stack. Company and ecosystem claims are verified against official corporate communications, press releases, and registry filings. Attribution of statements, quotes, and positions is verified for accuracy and context. When factual uncertainty remains after our verification process, we disclose this uncertainty clearly to readers rather than presenting the information as established fact.

Update Frequency and Currency

We are committed to keeping our content current and relevant. Pillar analysis articles and comprehensive ecosystem reports are reviewed and updated on a quarterly basis, with interim updates published when material developments warrant revision. Data points and statistics cited in our articles are updated as new reports are published by the relevant source institutions. Regulatory analysis is updated whenever FINMA, the Swiss Federal Council, ESMA, or other relevant authorities issue new guidance, rules, or enforcement actions. Each article displays both its original publication date and the date of its most recent update, ensuring that readers can assess the currency of the information. Content that has been superseded by more recent developments is clearly marked as archived and linked to updated coverage where available.

Correction Policy

We take errors seriously and are committed to correcting them promptly, transparently, and completely. When a factual error is identified in published content, we follow a structured correction process. Minor corrections, such as typographical errors, formatting issues, or minor factual clarifications that do not change the substance of the analysis, are corrected in place with a note at the end of the article indicating that a correction has been made, along with the date of the correction and a description of what was changed. Significant corrections, including errors in data, misattribution of statements, incorrect regulatory interpretations, or factual errors that affect the substance of the analysis, are corrected with a prominent correction notice placed at the top of the article, clearly describing the error and the corrected information, along with the date of the correction. In cases where an error is serious enough to undermine the validity of an entire article or analysis, we will publish a retraction notice with a full explanation. We encourage readers, sources, and subjects of our coverage to report errors by contacting us at editorial@zugweb3.com. We review all error reports within 24 hours and publish corrections as quickly as the verification process allows.

Editorial Independence

Editorial independence is the foundation of our credibility. No content published on ZUG Web3 is influenced by commercial partners, advertisers, sponsors, or any other external commercial interests. Advertising revenue, generated through programmatic ad placement via Google AdSense, has no bearing whatsoever on our editorial decisions, coverage priorities, or analytical conclusions. Advertisers have no input into, preview of, or approval rights over any editorial content. Our advertising operations and editorial operations are strictly separated. Companies, protocols, and individuals that are subjects of our coverage have no ability to influence, edit, preview, or suppress our content. We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage, and we do not allow commercial relationships to determine which topics we cover or how we cover them. If any potential conflict of interest exists — for example, if an editorial team member holds tokens or equity in a company or protocol discussed in our coverage — this conflict is disclosed transparently to readers within the relevant article.

Disclosure Policy

Transparency about potential conflicts of interest is essential to maintaining reader trust. Our disclosure standards require that all editorial team members disclose personal holdings of cryptocurrencies, tokens, and equity positions in blockchain companies to our Editor-in-Chief. Material holdings in any company or protocol that is the subject of editorial coverage are disclosed within the relevant article. Any affiliate relationships, sponsorship arrangements, or commercial partnerships that could create a perception of conflict are disclosed prominently. Advisory relationships between editorial team members and blockchain companies or protocol foundations are disclosed and managed to prevent editorial influence. Invitations to conferences, events, or other industry gatherings do not create any editorial obligation and do not influence coverage decisions.
